We help you with machine control
Machine control enables faster and more efficient work and at the same time reduces the risk of bottlenecks and unnecessary rework. Do the right thing right away, contact Atritec.
How Atritec can help you with machine control
Machine control is an important pillar for the future of the construction industry. The technological development of the world has given rise to new, continuously changing demands in the construction industry — more ambitious projects, higher quality requirements, tighter budgets and time budgets. We match this pace and lead the measurement industry into the future with the help of innovation and automation.
With long and broad experience in machine control combined with innovative systems and measurement services, we can increase the efficiency of your projects. We have expertise and experience with most machine control systems on the market and always deliver the file type that the system works with.
Machine control
Collection of measurement data
Machine control replaces the requirement for staking, but places higher demands on design and measurement. If your project lacks the basis for the machine control files, or needs to increase the quality of the basis, we help you collect the necessary measurement data to produce detailed detail maps and drawings. With broad expertise and innovative measurement services, we can quickly, cost-effectively and with high precision produce basis for preparing high-quality machine control files in good time.

Preparing machine control files
Get the right machine control files at the right time for your system and needs according to the project's conditions and schedule. We prepare and adapt machine control files for all types and models of systems in close cooperation with the machinist. Together we review the project's conditions and potential challenges to proactively adapt and deliver the files in good time. 2D drawings are reworked and converted into 3D terrain models, which in turn are transferred to the machine's control computer.
Do the right thing right away with Atritec. Streamline the entire process from start to finish and ensure an efficient project without the risk of bottlenecks and unnecessary rework. We specialize in rail, road and utility networks but can help customize machine control files regardless of the type and size of the project.
Advantages of machine control
Reduced resource requirements as the machinist can work more independently and see for himself what needs to be done from his machine.
What is mobile mapping?
Machine control is when construction machinery is controlled by one or more measuring instruments to help the operator navigate and know where to work, for example showing where an excavator should dig. It replaces the requirement for stakeout but at the same time places higher demands on design and surveying; in other words, a more detailed and accurate basis is needed. Machine control is common in, among other things, major road and railway construction, but is also used in smaller civil engineering projects, municipal engineering, house construction as well as dredging of ports and lakes.
Staking can be done in several different ways using different tools and methods, including GPS (rover), total station, laser, etc. The choice of method depends on the project's sensitivity to how large or small margins apply.
Measuring correctly is not only important before the next step, production/construction, to ensure that all data and measurements are available to the contractors. It also plays an important role once the construction is complete in producing relationship documents so that it is easier to troubleshoot and fix errors in the future.
What is a machine control system?
A machine control system is a control system that enables machine control. It helps the operator know how and where to work, such as digging with an excavator. GPS tells us where the machine is in the world; sensors similarly help us know where the machine's tools, such as the arm and bucket of an excavator, are and what angle they are at. Together with the machine control files, the operator can see the position of the machine and the tool in real time in relation to a digital representation of reality in 1D, 2D or 3D.
How does machine control work?
The majority of machines that use machine control are controlled by the operator himself. The system is then mainly used as an auxiliary tool to, for example, compare the relationship between level and height. But there are also machines that can be controlled completely automatically. The system then adjusts all settings, for example the height and angle of the excavator bucket for an excavator, while the machine is in motion.
The most common source for machine control is GPS/GNSS via radio modem or GSM network. However, laser, total station or a deployed reference point (which constitutes the zero point) is also used. In larger road and railway construction, models are often built over the area that is loaded into the machine. The models allow the operator to see a digital cross-section with all the details, including slopes, ditches, superstructure, longitudinal slope, cross slope, heights and the like.
